Dr. Ryan Lamp was born in Merredin, WA and moved to Perth before high school. He comes from a large family with seven siblings and seventeen nieces and nephews and one great nephew. He completed his chiropractic degree at Murdoch University and was in the inaugural cohort.

He started working in Mandurah before opening his first practice in Rivervale. He is now the owner of Rivervale, Bentley and Toodyay Chiropractic clinics.

He has a special interest in treating children and adults for:

• Workplace injuries
• Postural related symptoms
• Sporting injuries including knee, feet, and hand injuries
• Enhancement of sports performance
• Injuries from motor vehicle accidents
• Lower back pain and stiffness
• Neck pain and stiffness
• Arm pain, weakness and tingling
• Leg pain (sciatica), weakness and tingling

Dr Ryan is passionate about helping all his patients.

Australian Rotary Health is 42 years old. A brief history with highlights will be provided - then an update on our successful Mental Health Research unding program, including our future focus. A brief snapshot of the organisation will also be provided. Detailed notes will be forwarded to the club newsletter editor after the presentation.

Jerry joined Scarborough Rotary in 1988 - has served on all committees including being the club Treasurer for 5 years. He has been the club President twice - 2008 - 2009 and 2021 - 2022. Jerry has served as the District Membership Chair for 3 years, in Districts 9450 & 9455, and was District Governor for D9455 in 2015 - 2016. He joined the board of directors for Australian Rotary Health, representing Western Australia in 2017 and has been asked to stay on for 2 more years, and is the current vice-chair.

André will introduce and discuss neurofeedback, a technique in which individuals learn to alter their brain activity.

The session will start by demystifying what neurofeedback is and how it operates, laying a foundation for understanding the mechanisms of treatments. Neurofeedback has a wide clinical application and is increasingly used in clinical settings, with efficacy in assisting treatment for anxiety, ADHD and notably, and post-concussion symptoms.

André will describe his current PhD research at the Perron Institute. Nuerofeedback is in a clinical trial as a potential therapy for people with persistent post-concussion symptoms where there is otherwise no approved treatment. André’s research also focuses on exploration into the underlying biological mechanism for how neurofeedback may work to alleviate concussion symptoms.

Her proactive engagement in the dynamic landscapes of digital technology and Al reflects her approach to navigating the complex growth strategies within the non-profit and corporate spheres. At the forefront of the Foundation, Kylie leads the innovative Back on Track education program.

Lisa Longman works as Head of Innovation at Bloom:Centre for Youth Innovation, creating the next generation of Intra and Entrepreneurs.

Lisa’s experience in the social and commercial worlds gives her the ability to combine values driven work with sustainability and effectiveness. Outside of her work, Lisa is an active member in the community with board roles on the Community Arts Network and advisory for the Gravity Discovery Centre.

Bloom is a Western Australian non-profit organisation, powered by St Catherine’s College, that aims to build the innovation and entrepreneurial skills of young people in WA. Founded by students for students, who wanted a place to explore entrepreneurship and innovation alongside their studies. Ten years on Bloom is a dynamic youth led innovation centre with programs from K-12, Tertiary and on into early career and start-ups.

Heather shares her curiousity about the Camino Salvado and how it stimulated her interest in walking to Tui - Galicia, the birthplace of Dom Salvado.

Heather was a Special Needs Teacher for 40 years. She was also the Deputy Principal at Kim Beazley School in Fremantle for 20 years. During the last 5 years of her career, she worked in inclusive schooling for a student with severe, profound disabilities in a mainstream class.

She entered the Subiaco City Council in 1990 and served as Central ward Councillor for 13 years. After she retired, she returned as Mayor of the City of Subiaco in 2005 -- retiring again in 2017. Heather has been recognised as an Honorary Freeman of the City, an OAM in 2019, and has a walk in Subi Centro named after her.

Kathleen is passionate about enabling people to live considered, meaningful lives, feeling that they belong and are valued in their community, and are connected to the natural world which they respect and protect. With this impact in mind she's worked at a number of not for profit organisations, specialising in social enterprise development activities to build sustainable funding. She has served as the CEO of Perth City Farm for seven years and is the Deputy Chair of the WA Social Enterprise Council.

Born in Melbourne, 1945, Peter Hopper trained as a Primary School teacher and was called up for National Service in 1965. He served as an Artillery Surveryor in Vietnam from 1967. In 1975, he completed a Honours degree (History) at the University of Western Australia. From 1976 to 1986, Peter taught History at Christ Church Grammar School. He also taught in Zimbabwe and Perth Modern School until 2005. Since 2005, he has been the President of Subiaco-Shenton Park RSL Sub Branch, and an active member of military history societies, sporing bodies, and clubs.

Peter Hopper will cover the story of my involvement and progress as a military historian. When did his research begin? How did his career develop? And why did this happen? What use has his work in military history been to him and others? You will also understand recent growth in miliary history and the latest trends among historians.
