Year 10 high school students at Perth Modern School are invited to compete in the 4 Way Speaking Competition.
Applications will be available in your Advo class or at the Interact Club meetings on Monday afternoons after school. Parents, teachers and students are also invited to contact Rotarian Shauna Kinney (contact details below). Parents, teachers, and students are invited to attend. There is no fee for attendance. We ask that you do not attend if you have cold and flu symptoms. As a courtesy during cold and flu season, we request you wear a mask but a mask is not required. Parent and attendee parking is located on campus next to the historic Perth Modern School Buildings (highlighted in orange). Enter the parking area from Roberts Road. Walk past the student drop off area towards the Parsons building. The lecture hall is located at the west end of the lecture hall. 50 Years in Rotary

Bill Benbow has been a member of Rotary for 50 years. He is the Past District Governor from 2005-06 when our district number was 9450. He is remembered for organising a very popular the District Conference in Geraldton, Western Australia. Bill took over as District Governor from Axel Handevitt-Haar (Nedlands) 2004-05 and handed over Distirct Governor the following year to Ian Murray (Mt Lawley) 2006-07. Bill has remained active with the Rotary Club of Subiaco since he started on the 1st of August 1972. His wife, Heather and his family has partipated in Rotary service alongside Bill throughout this time. |

Operating hours are Sundays – 7am to 12 noon Currently two shifts - First Shift 2 persons 7am to 930 (Set up put out signs ect). We liked Jason's 12 Jul 2022 presentation, "Connected Technology and What is Smart?", so much that we invited him back to our meeting with our sister Rotary Club of Karrinyup. Jason Bloxsidge is an expert in digital literacy, working for NBN as a community ambassador helping to raise digital inclusion amongst some of Australia’s most disadvantaged communities. Prior to that, Jason developed a registered training company which delivered job ready programs to clients across the northwest of WA, in particular travelling to many remote indigenous communities. As a Master of Business Administration graduate at Edith Cowan University, Jason has a passion for lifelong learning which is demonstrated not only in his current position with NBN, but also his work in the entrepreneurship space developing his own ed-tech startup over the last two years.
In his own time, Jason spends quality time with his two young children and is actively involved in motorsport activities.

Where a silly, crazy or fun hat to raise awareness about mental illenss. Take a picture or grab a video of you and your friends wearing your hats and post to social media using the hashtags #HatDay20 #HatDay #Liftthelidonmentalillness. Every year we sponsor a group of Churchlands School kids to help plant trees in Quairading. We will hear what it was like to do habitat restoration in an area previously ravaged by a bush fire. This year the program switched from an overnight to a day program. The Churchlands Environmental program leader will share with us her thoughts about the new schedule.

Belonging to a family with both parents as boat refugees from the Vietnam War, Christian’s hardships inspired him to found Elucidate Education in his Year 12 bedroom 6 years ago. He is passionate about using technology to break barriers in education and leads a not-for-profit organisation operating a platform providing free learning support to an audience of 78,000 users per year. Christian’s mission is to ensure all secondary students have the opportunity to achieve at school, regardless of their socioeconomic or geographical background. Complementing his social impact is Christian’s work experience within management consulting and corporate development for Australia’s largest grain handler. Christian is a graduate of Curtin University and the International Honours Program at Stanford University where he majored in Technology and Innovation.
