Three adjudicators from St George’s Toastmasters will judge the speeches. The 2023 Western Australian State Champion\, Mahek\, is coachin g alongside our Rotarians and teachers. Students can register using the Mi crosoft Form available by contacting the Rotary-Interact student leaders o r Perth Modern School administration. The 4 Way Test Contest is a speaking competition where Year 10 students. Each participant of the competition m ay choose their own topic\, but the 4 values of the Rotary Four Way test m ust be addressed: Of the things we think\, say or do Is it the TRUTH? Is i t FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Wi ll it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? The duration of the speech should b e six (6) minutes. A warning bell will sound at five (5) minutes with a fi nal bell at six (6) minutes. Penalties will apply if time varies by more t han 20 seconds either side of six (6) minutes. Our timekeeper\, Nathan Pur gass\, will time the speech and provide the time to the adjudicators\, whi ch may assist them in scoring the speech. Assessment of the speech will be made on the following basis: Inclusion and expansion of the Rotary Four W ay test woven into the speech How the rotary values affect and influence u s and the speaker in everyday life A considered and balanced review of the competitor's topic Points presented clearly and supported by appropriate evidence Appeal to audience In this heat\, first place is awarded a $75 d ollar Visa gift voucher\, second place a $50 Visa gift voucher\, and third place a $25 Visa gift voucher.
